Scope and content:: The fonds contains material of the Association of the Nové Strašecí Museum: books, file material and accounting material. The fonds contains material collected by the originator of the fonds. Relevant are inv. no. 51 Jewish affairs (1 box), first half of the 20th century.

Archival history:: The material of the Association of the Nové Strašecí Museum was always stored in the building of the local museum. In addition to the standard association agenda, this organisation collected ethnographic material from the Nové Strašecí region. The fonds (1894-1951) is not complete, the second part being stored in today's Municipal Museum in Nové Strašecí, a branch of the TGM Museum in Rakovník, especially documents from the oldest period of the Association (the late 19th century), including minutes of meetings.

Administrative/biographical history:: The museum in Nové Strašecí was established in 1894 as a museum association and functioned until 1951. Until 1951, the association was housed in the town hall in Nové Strašecí. From 1951, the museum and all its property were under the administration of the District National Committee in Nové Strašecí, and it began to stagnate. From 1960, the museum was administered by the municipal national committee. In 1984, its administration passed to the District Museum and Gallery in Rakovník (today the TGM Museum).
