- Scope and content:
- The fonds contains official documentation of the Jewish religious community of Vojkovice (Mělník district) as well as the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic. There are a total of 16 documents (52 sheets): statutes of the community, minutes of the general meetings, fee collection sheets, applications. Documents from the second half of the 19th century. Most of the documents are in German, written in neo-Gothic. The fee collection sheets are in Hebrew.
- Archival history:
- The fonds was organised in the district museum and taken over by the archives in 1956. It was inventoried in 1959.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Jewish community of Vojkovice (German: Israelitische Kultusgemeinde Wojkowitz) was established around 1800. In 1870, it had 70 fee-paying members and administered a school. In 1893, it was annexed to the Jewish religious community of Postřižín. At the beginning of the 20th century no Jewish inhabitants lived there anymore. The synagogue was built in 1808-1814 in a simple classicist style. Regular services were held there until 1893; since then it had not been used, being gradually devastated. There was no cemetery in the municipality and the dead were buried in Spomyšl.
