- Archival history:
- The older part of the registry from 1850-1868 was transferred from the Central Archives of the Ministry of Interior in Prague to the former Regional Archives in Plasy in 1952. Another part of the file material from 1850-1942 was stored in the registry of the District National Committee in Rokycany. In 1942, many of these files were destroyed. In the 1950s, the material was gradually transferred to the State Archives in Plzeň. All the preserved material from the Rokycany District Office was merged there and the fonds was organised in 1960.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The name Rokycany District Office included the political authorities of the first instance from the period of 1850-1942, namely Rokycany District Governor's Office (sub-regional authority), operating from the takeover of the political agenda of the patrimonial authorities from 1 February 1850 until 26 May 1855 and the Rokycany Mixed District Office for the area of the Rokycany District Court operating from 26 May 1855 to 31 August 1868. It had judicial and political powers. Between 1896 and 1918, the District Governor's Office was renewed again, changing its name, between 1918-1928, to the District Political Administration in Rokycany, and subsequently to the Rokycany District Office from 1 July 1928 to May 1942.
