- Scope and content:
- The fonds comprises documents of the district court. The agenda is divided into civil, criminal and land matters. It is a comprehensive fonds that can be used to research the social conditions and especially the social composition of the population. The probate files, including the Jewish ones, are especially relevant, as well as wills, D files (inheritance) and P files (guardianship). The files of individual deceased persons contain biographical information about the person, his/her relatives, property and the settlement of the estate. It is possible to search by name in the preserved registers.
- Archival history:
- The fonds is not inventoried, therefore its history is unknown. From the Zbiroh District Court, the documents are directly transferred to the District Archives after the expiry of the statutory appraisal deadlines.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- After the abolition of the manorial administration and with the establishment of a new organisation of political and judicial administration, the Zbiroh District Court was established in 1850 for the judicial district of the same name. In the period from 26 May 1855 to 31 August 1868, the performance of political and judicial administration was merged into one office, which became the so-called mixed district office. The separation of political and judicial administration took place again in 1868, when a district court was established, operating until 1952.
