- Administrative/biographical history:
- The earliest record of Jewish settlement in Mladá Boleslav dates from 1471. In 1687, it was 775 people (about 50% of the population) and in the middle of the 19th century approximately 900 people (18% of the city's population); later the number of Jewish families decreased. After World War II, the Jewish religious community was restored for a short time. From 1922, the Jewish National Association had maintained its own museum with valuable Judaic collections. There was a Jewish quarter in the town. The synagogue was built in 1785 on the site of an older one. It was demolished in 1962. In the town there is also a cemetery from the 16th century that was functional until after World War II.
