- The fonds of the Czech State Accounting Office is an important fonds for the Czech history of the late 18th to early 20th century, not only for the financial aspect, but also for administrative and religious matters. The main type of documents in the fonds are those of a financial and accounting nature. These are mainly various accounting and cash diaries - incomes and expenditure, auxiliary official books (filing and registration protocols), and the so-called ledgers, i.e. books of assets and liabilities of finances for a given agenda. A considerable part also includes purely official books, which do not cover the actual official activities of the accounting office but record the official rules and regulations of the higher administrative authorities. These are the court decrees issued by the court chamber in Vienna, the books of norms/regulations and the books of gubernatorial decrees. These books provide a better understanding of the official communication of the accounting office with other provincial and court institutions. The official books and files of the presidial registry mainly contain documents received by the State Accounting Office from other institutions. The ordinary registers have been divided into subject groups in alphabetical order. Within each subject group, the documents were also divided according to their subject-matter jurisdiction, also alphabetically. The list of the subject groups included: taxes, funds (chamber, religious), monasteries, churches, religious brotherhoods, estates, audits of treasuries (estates, provincial), orphan affairs, general building affairs, schools, military affairs, release from obligations, and the miscellaneous group. Specifically, Jewish-related records can be searched by Inventory 1967: inv. nos. 278-279; 1808-1818 and 1819-1851; book nos. 249-250: Books of the Jewish Department of the State Accounting Office - Inv. nos. 280-306; 1792-1844; book nos. 251-277: Books of the Jewish Department of the State Accounting Office - Inv. nos. 307-308; 1836-1841 and 1850-1865; book nos. 278-279: Books relating to Jewish foundation affairs - Inv. nos. 309; 1845-1860; book no. 280: Books relating to the Jewish Fund and the Stanzfund. Inv. nos. 1372-1408; 1825-1904; book nos. 1343-1379: Jewish Endowment Fund. Inv. nos. 1639-1641; 1784-1860; book nos. 1610-1612: Books of accounts of the Jewish tax. Inv. nos. 1642-1643; 1799-1839; book nos. 1613-1614: Books of Jewish tax dues from individual counties.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The documents were gradually transferred from the registry of the Accounting Office to the Governor's Archive (after 1918 the Archive of the Ministry of the Interior). Documents have been preserved more since the end of the 18th century. The material from the earlier period is very fragmentary. From at least the mid-19th century onwards, the documents of this fonds were stored in the crypt of the Church of St Nicholas on Malostranské Square in Prague, from where they were moved several times outside Prague. Since the 1990s, the entire fonds has been stored in the National Archives in Prague. Organisational work began in 1964 and ended in 1967. A single and current inventory was also taken. Some of the documents were put into the so-called old handling period fonds. Part of the books of the chamber's accounting office were then transferred to the former fonds of the chamber books, which was subsequently divided into other fonds (Czech Chamber, NAD 178; Czech Governorate - Auxiliary Books, NAD 203/10, Old Handling Period, NAD 175; Old Montanum/Mining Affairs, NAD 216).
