- The press collection contains fragments of various press archives, which form the first part of the fonds, as well as periodicals published both in Czechoslovakia and abroad, stored in the second part. The fragments of periodicals of the following Jewish associations and organisations can be found there: Das Abendland - Central-organ für alle zeitgemässen Interessen des Judenthums, Brno, 1868; Dapim - Blätter für Arbeitssionismus, Prague, 1937-1938; Erez Israel - News of the Jewish Fund, Prague, 1935-1938 (devoted to the aims of the fund, which carried out collections and purchased land in Palestine for the building of Jewish settlements by Czechoslovak colonists; of interest are photographs from Palestine and the life of the colonists and an overview of these settlements); Der Fortschritt im Judenthume - Organ für die gesammten Interessen des reinen Judenthums - für die Gemeinde, Synagoge, Schule, Familie, und die Wissenschaft, Lovosice 1885; Hamajim - Reports of the Jewish Swimming Club Hagibor, Prague 1935-1937; Jaldut - Journal of Jewish Youth, Prague 1936-1939 (children's Zionist magazine); Jung Juda - Illustrierte Jugendzeitschrift mit tschechischer Beilage, Prague 1936; Kapper - List of Czech-Jewish Academics, Prague 1936-1937 (published by the Kapper Academic Society; political articles, association news, reviews); Magazine of Jewish Youth, Praha 1923 (published by the Society of Jewish Academics Theodor Herzl in Prague; articles mainly introducing Jewish youth to Palestine and the life of the colonists there, to leading figures of the movement, etc. ); Nová Palestina, Prague b. d. (supplement to the Jewish News journal, articles and photographs on the colonization of Palestine, overview of Jewish settlements as of June 1922); Palestine - Bulletin of the Czechoslovak-Palestinian Chamber of Commerce in Prague and the Czechoslovak Chamber of Commerce in Palestine, Prague 1935; Der Philosemit - Ein Weltbild des Judentums, Prague 1932 (poems and various reports on Jewish culture, movement and life in various countries of the world); Spiegel der jüdischen Welt - Bilderbeilage der Selbstwehr, Prague 1927-1932 (pictorial supplement to the Selbstwehr; articles on the Zionist movement and especially on the life of the Jewish population, including immigrants in Palestine); Taamula - Zionist Bulletin, Prague 1937; Bulletin of the Religious Jewish Communities, Prague 1937-1938 (articles on the history and status of Judaism in Prague, Bohemia and foreign countries, reports on the activities of the communities, family reports); Bulletin of the Trade Union Organisation of the Overseers and Officials of the Jewish Communities of the Czechoslovak State, b. d. (articles demanding an improvement in the social status of bailiffs and officials of Jewish communities); Bulletin of the Jewish Religious Community in Prague 1934-1938 (reflections on the fate of Jewry, historical and religious articles, organisational reports); Zeitschrift für die Geschichte der Juden in der Tschechoslowakei, Prague 1938 (an issue largely devoted to the eightieth birthday of Prof. Samuel Steinherz). There are also two publications in the collection, namely Die jüdischen Denkmäler in der Tschechoslowakei. Veröffentlichungen der Denkmalskommission des Obersten Rates der Judischen Kultusgemeinde-Verbände in Böhmen, Mähren und Schlesien, Praha 1933 and Hickls lllustrierter jüdischer Volkskalender für das Jahr der Weltschöpfung, Brno 1938.

- The actual Press Collection was created at the State Central Archives (now the National Archives) in 1966. The basis of the Press Collection was gradually established within the Clippings Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where, in addition to a set of clippings from the activities of the Press Department, occasional collections of foreign origin were deposited, acquired after the dissolution of the original institutions or after the reorganisation of organisations merged with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the Nazi occupation, the press clippings were transferred to the Archives of the Ministry of the Interior, together with the agenda of the Clippings Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The fragments of the editorial archives form the first part of the collection. The second part of the collection was made up of newspaper clippings and, exceptionally, other types of printed matter sorted during the organisation of various clipping collections or donations from individuals. Most of the acquisitions come from the former Institute of Journalism Studies. In the mid-1960s, it transferred an amount of unorganised printed matter to the State Central Archives. The arrangement of the second part occurred in 1987-1988.
