The fonds comprises documents created by the district office: official books, file material, and accounting material. The fonds contains sources on the history of Jews in Slaný and the surroundings in census sheets from 1869-1921 (from the censuses in 1869, 1880, 1890, 1900, 1910 and 1921). Information on Jews can be found in the agenda of religion/church affairs, domicile affairs and federal affairs. Trade issues may also be relevant.

- Archival history:
- The fonds of the Slaný District Office 1850-1945 (1948) was acquired by the State District Archives in Kladno in several phases. Part of the fonds was taken over in the 1950s by the Kladno District Archives from the Slaný District National Committee. In the 1960s, the District Archives in Kladno took over materials from 1851-1928 from the State Central Archives in Prague. The 1921 census sheets ware taken over in 2005. The fonds of the Slaný District Office 1850-1945 (1948) is partially processed and archival finding aids exist for it.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Slaný District Governor's Office was established in 1850, and at the same time the Slaný Political District was created. The branch in Nový Strašecí, operating in 1850-1855, was a part of that office. In 1855, the Governor's Office was transformed into the Mixed District Office of Slaný, which existed until 1868. In 1868, the Slaný District Governor's Office was established again and included the judicial districts of Slaný, Nové Strašecí and Velvary. In 1928, the Slaný District Political Administration was renamed the Slaný District Office, which existed under this name until 1945.
