Jews lived in Zlonice permanently since the end of the 16th century (the Fanta family), as they were not allowed to live in the town of Slaný. The Jewish religious community existed from 1831.
The Jewish cemetery in Zlonice was established in the 17th century. About 120 mostly sandstone tombstones have been preserved. Jews from nearby villages were buried in the cemetery, too. There was a prayer room in the municipality. The funeral fraternity was founded by Nathan Fanta in 1803 to maintain the cemetery and support the poor members. There were 43 members in 1803, and 26 in 1905. In 1905, Rudolf Fanta was chairman and Mořic Behrmann was vice-chairman.
