- The documents of this fonds come mainly from the activities of the Nižbor municipal office. The fonds contains books, file material, and accounting material. An overview of the composition of the local population (including Jews) is given by the Books of the general administration of the municipality. In this subgroup one can also find a register of the citizens from 1850, two registers and a book of the issued domicile certificates (1850-1905), and a book of foreigners from 1930-1940. In the other agenda one can also find files concerning domicile and registry matters (inv. no. 42-45). Jews are mentioned in inv. no. 192 Photographs - the factory of Jew Kraus in Nová Huť (chemical plant, burned down in 1910) (1907).
- Archival history:
- The municipal registry, from where the documents of the municipal office were transferred, was located in the official building itself. The materials were gradually transferred to the Beroun district archives during several appraisal proceedings. The first part of the material was handed over in 1953, the other parts gradually until 1991. The fonds was organised in 1959, and later, additions were incorporated, and an inventory took place in 2016.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The name Nižbor first appeared in a document from 1265. In 1946, the name of the municipality was changed from the original Nová Huť pod Nižborem to Nižbor. Until 1850, the local authorities of the municipalities were mayors and municipal elders. From 1850, it was a municipal committee, which elected the executive body, i.e. the municipal board headed by the mayor. From 1850, the municipality of Nová Huť was administered by the mayor and two councillors, the board at the time probably had nine members. An integral part of the council was the so-called Virilist. The activities of the municipal offices were terminated by the establishment of local national committees.
