- Archival history:
- The greatest care was taken with privileges and town books. During the Thirty Years' War the most valuable items were stored in the church. The files had been stored in fascicles in the town office since the 1770s. The registry from 1850-1912 was appraised in 1943. From 1919, documents had been stored in 10 subject groups. Another appraisal and sorting according to file marks was carried out in the Kamenice District Archives in 1958–1961. In 1967, the fonds was handed over to the Pelhřimov District Archives.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The first written mention of Počátky is from 1285-1290. It is mentioned as a town in 1389. Until the end of the patrimonial establishment it belonged to non-royal towns. After the issuance of several privileges, it reached the status of a manorial protective town. In 1792, the regulated municipality office was established. In 1849, the first municipal council was elected.
