Information of Jews can mainly be found in documents on economic matters and minutes of the municipal council board and council meetings as well as the economic agenda - especially regarding Mahler stonemason's company. There are also documents about the mayor Alfred Weinstein (mayor from 1931) and the Morawetz family, the owners of the castle in Světlá na Sázavou until 1938. From the period 1938-1945 there are decrees against Jews.
- Archival history:
- The materials that originated from the activities of the town hall were stored at the town hall and managed by the town archivist. From 1952, the material was part the Ledeč nad Sázavou District Archives but remained under the administration of the Municipal National Committee in Světlá nad Sázavou. Since 1960, it formally belonged to the Havlíčkův Brod District Archives as its local branch. The documents remained in Světlá until 1991 (1992), when they were handed over to the State District Archives in Havlíčkův Brod.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Světlá nad Sázavou was established on the estate of the Vilémov monastery. We do not know much about the exact beginnings of the town, as important sources were destroyed during the burning of the Vilémov monastery in 1421. It was a non-royal town. There was a smaller Jewish community in the town. The synagogue was demolished after 1989, only the new Jewish cemetery has been preserved. The patrimonial office in Světlá was abolished in 1849. Its powers passed to the municipality, district office and district court. Světlá nad Sázavou belonged to the political and judicial district of Ledeč nad Sázavou and in the years 1850-1855 to the Pardubice region. In 1855 it was included again in the Čáslav region.
