Scope and content:: Data on Jews can be found in accounting books and records. Relevant are the following files: books of property transfers (1786-1874); tax register (1844-60); tax regulations (1845-71); rentals and auctions of rentals of town property and rights (1846).

Archival history:: The fonds was probably stored first in the mayor's house. After 1872 it was stored in the building of the district notary's office in Bytča. In 1957, together with the fonds of the district notary's office, it was transferred to the State Archives in Bytča and partly arranged. After the abolition of the Bytča district it was transferred in 1961 to the State Archives in Žilina.

Administrative/biographical history:: The non-royal town was in possession of Bytča manor since the 16th century. It was administered by the mayor and councillors. In the second half of the 18th century, a Jewish community appeared there, having its own mayor. The town mayor had a smaller jurisdiction, the manor being the appeal instance. The fonds was closed in 1871, when the District Notary's Office in Bytča was established which took over the internal administration.

System of arrangement:: The fonds has only been preserved in fragments, the files being lost almost entirely. When being arranged, the documents were arranged by diplomatic categories within subject groups.
