- Archival history:
- The fonds is a preserved part of the Balaš’s archive. It was stored in Orlov castle from where it was taken over by the Matica Slovenská Association in Martin, and from there by the archives of the Slovak National Museum in Martin. In 1956, it was transferred to the State Archives in Bytča.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The centre of the manor was Považský Castle, which was built in the 14th century. It had several owners, the important ones being the Podmanickis, the Balaš and the Saparis. The shares of the last two families were bought by Leopold Popper and Jozef Lord.
