Jews are mentioned in the following documents: business matters, licensing of trades, concessions (1910-22); reports on manufacturing enterprises (1918-22; and reports on associations (1918-22).
- Archival history:
- After the abolition of the Tvrdošín district, the fonds was relocated to Trstěná where it was presumably placed in unsuitable conditions, and therefore several groups of the files were lost. In 1957 the fonds was taken over by the state archives in Bytča.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- District offices (Szolgabírói hivatal) were established in 1849, first as temporary offices of the public administration. A reorganisation took place in 1850, and the next one in 1853. The district office was the lowest political-administrative unit and at the same time the first instance court in the Orava County. The district office was seated in Tvrdošín. It was headed by the chief officer who was helped by one or two officers. There was other staff in the office, too. The judicial agenda was separated and transferred to district courts in 1871. The office supervised obedience to law, kept the agenda of taxes, fees, military affairs, and elections, being also the industrial supervision of the first instance. After the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic, the structure of the office remained unchanged until 1922 when it ceased to exist.
