- Archival history:
- The fonds was stored in Liptovský Mikuláš until the 1923 reorganisation of public administration. A part of the fonds was transported to Levoča, where it was made partially accessible, and in 1954 it was returned to Liptovský Mikuláš. Within the new territorial reorganisation, the fonds was transferred to the State Archives in Bytča. The arrangement of the fonds was completed in 1981 when an inventory was created.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- District offices (Szolgabírói hivatal) were established in 1849 as temporary offices of the public administration. A reorganisation took place in 1850, and another in 1853. The district office was the lowest political-administrative unit and at the same time the first instance court in Liptov County. The district gradually became to be seated in Liptovska Sielnica. It was headed by the chief officer who was helped by another officer. There was other staff in the office, too. The office supervised obedience to law, kept the agendas of taxes, charges, military affairs, and elections, being also the industrial supervision of the first instance and the first instance court. The office ceased to exist in 1871.
