Scope and content:: Information on Jews can be found in the minutes of meetings of the local council, local board and municipal committee (1862-1918). Relevant documents also include tax books (1853, 1861) and registers of tradesmen, craftsmen and merchants (1901-16).

Archival history:: The files were stored in the town house. When a new building was constructed in 1897, part of the fonds was transferred to the parish church, later to the school, and from there it was transferred to the Liptov Museum. In 1956 and 1960, the documents were taken over by the Archives.

Administrative/biographical history:: The town of Ružomberok belonged to Likava manor. It had income from various town businesses and rentals (mills, sawmill, paper plant). In the 19th century several industrial enterprises were established, especially textile and woodworking plants. In 1874, the town municipality office was abolished and the town became a large municipality. In 1908-1922, there was a controlled municipality office there, and since 1923 it was a large municipality again.

System of arrangement:: The fonds has been arranged but remains largely unprocessed. There are original registry finding aids to one part of the fonds.
