- Archival history:
- When the office ceased to exist, the files were kept in the original building, in the former Regional House. The fonds began to be made available in 1960. In 1964, it was inventoried and made partly available. In 2000-2006, the fonds was re-inventoried and made available in full.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The public administration office was established in 1923 after a reorganisation of the public administration. It was headed by the district head, representing the office. Public authority was exercised by the district council and the district committee. In 1939 the authority of the office was restricted, and in 1945 it was abolished.
