- Administrative/biographical history:
- In the period of feudalism, the town of Kežmarok was a free royal town with many royal privileges. After the abolition of serfdom, the town self-government was formed on a different legal basis than under feudalism. It was headed by the mayor, the municipality councillors and the town notary.
