- The fonds contains information about Jews in several registers concerning aliens, domicile certificates and associations. Relevant documents are the series of building permits (1928), the series of licenses and trades, general testimonies (1934-36) and the verification of the property of Bernard Weiss, an estate owner from Spišská Sobota.
- Archival history:
- The documents were inappropriately stored and a part of them were destroyed. Other losses occurred during the war. The documents were taken over by the State Archives in 1958. The fonds was originally processed and included in a group inventory. In 2000, it was re-inventoried.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The notary office was established as an administrative body of the municipality, led by a notary. Until 1918, the status of the notary did not change. He was an elected municipal employee and an executive of the state administration. The notary office had jurisdiction over several municipalities within a district, or over a town. After the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic, the notary became a civil servant and his power was partially limited. In 1945, the municipal self-government merged with the state administration.
