The documents concern the activities of the surveyor’s office in Zlatý Moravce and relate only to the tax districts of Zlaté Moravce and Vráble. They concern all landowners, including numerous Jewish landowners.
Documents relating to individual territories from the pre-1918 period form the basis of the register and contain the names of landowners and their assets. Land deeds, though decommissioned, remained part of the fonds if no land books were preserved for the given territory. These deeds also include information on landowners and their estates. Auxiliary material has only been preserved for some territories and includes registers of landholders, registers of changes in ownership, indexes of landowners and descriptions of plots.
- Archival history:
- The fonds was taken over, in December of 1958, by the predecessor of the institution where it is now as an unorganised unit of documents without a prior appraisal. After being taken over, the fonds was partially arranged. In 1987, an appraisal was carried out and the fonds was completely arranged and inventoried, and a finding aid was created for it. At present, the fonds is classified as fully inventoried.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The stable cadastre was established in Hungary according to the Austrian model. A tax provisional arrangement was introduced in 1850 and the definitive cadastre was introduced in 1875. In 1885, a network of offices for the cadastre was established. After the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic, the State Geodesic Offices of the Land Cadastre Register were established in 1925, which were renamed on 1 January 1929, pursuant to Act No. 177/1927, Cadastral Geodesic Offices. Pursuant to this Act, the Cadastral Geodesic Office in Zlaté Moravce was established, too. The Cadastre included the drawing, inventory and description of all land in the state, and served as a basis for tax collecting, land ownership ensuring and conveyancing. The Cadastral Geodesic Office in Zlaté Moravce had authority over the tax districts of Zlaté Moravce and Vráble. In 1940-1945, the Office was abolished. The original condition was restored on 1 January 1946. The creator ceased to exist on 31 December 1949.
