Scope and content:: The Trade Board in Nové Zámky was an organisation with authority over its district. Its series covers all traders and related professions operating on the territory of the Nové Zámky district, regardless of their nationality and religious belief. Due to the large number and permanent presence of Jews on the territory of the Nové Zámky district and their high proportion among traders, Judaica are presumed to be found abundantly in the fonds. These are the administrative books, including the book of the minutes of the board of directors and the expert groups of traders from 1935, and 3 books of the minutes of the presidium board and the committee of the business board.

Within register books Judaica can be found especially in the register of assistants from 1936-1939, the register of traders without specification of time, the register of merchants from the country without specification of time, 3 register books of traders without specification of time, and 3 books of apprenticeship contracts from 1936-, 1938.

In the 1936-1938 files, there are the minutes of the general meeting and of the Trade Board, trade offences, the approval of the final accounts of the Trade Board for the years of 1936-1937, a list of dealers in textile goods from 1937, and the granting of support to unemployed business employees.

Archival history:: The fonds was taken over in 1966 by the District Archives in Nové Zámky, the predecessor of the institution where it is stored now. In 1966, an appraisal was carried out and the fonds was completely arranged and inventoried. At that time it was considered to be a part of the fonds of the General Trade Association in Nové Zámky, but later it was separated from that fonds and is currently registered as a separate one.

Administrative/biographical history:: The Trade Board for the Nové Zámky District was established by its separation from the General Trade Association in Nové Zámky on the basis of the Order of the Land Office of 26 October 1934. At the time of its establishment, it had 901 members from the ranks of traders and related professions. The supreme administrative authority was the general meeting of members which elected the board of directors headed by chairman. The Trade Board had competence over the Nové Zámky District. It began to operate on 1 January 1936. After the annexation of the Nové Zámky district by Hungary, as a result of the 1st Vienna Arbitration, in November 1938, the Trade Board did not cease to exist but operated under changed legal conditions. After the return of the Nové Zámky District to Czechoslovakia in 1945, the activities of the the Trade Board were resumed. It ceased to exist on 1 June 1949, when its competence was taken over by the District Secretariat of the Slovak Union of Traders.

System of arrangement:: The fonds consists of 30 official books from 1935-1949, registry finding aids from 1936-1949 and files from 1936-1949. The fonds is arranged according to the original chronological-numerical system. The inventory unit for the files is one year of the documents, and one book for books and registry finding aids.
