The fonds is a fragment of the original register of the association. The preserved documents include minutes of the committee meetings containing the committee resolutions, information on the election of its officials, invitations to the committee meetings and information on activities of the committee. The documents also include financial accounts, appeals to the public, and artists' designs of the monument.
The committee brought together members regardless of nationality and religion. However, among their functionaries were several representatives of the local Jewish community in Levice (Dr. Ignácz Frommer, Vilmos Huberth, Benő Weisz and others). The minutes concern their part in the development of public life in the town.
- Archival history:
- The staff of the predecessor of the institution in which the fonds is now stored are likely to have removed it from another fonds in 1980. It is currently classified as arranged.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The committee was set up in October of 1915 with the aim of building a monument in Levice for the soldiers from the territory of Tekov County who were killed in the First World War. It brought together persons regardless of nationality and religion. When founded, it had 30 members. It focused on organising collections the proceeds of which were supposed to be used for the construction of the monument. After the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic, the committee interrupted its activities, resuming it in 1923 until 1927, but its aim - the construction of the memorial - was not realised.
