- The collection contains photos of many aspects of life. The life of the Jewish community and inhabitants of Košice is captured in several photographs. From 1929, there is a photo of the Jewish Elementary School in Košice with teacher Armin Eckstein. From 1930, there is a photo of the Košice Orthodox Synagogue in the Mojzesova Street. A photo of Dr. Jozef Polák, the Director of the East Slovak Museum in Košice, capturing him with journalists at the archaeological finds in the environs of Košíc, was taken around 1930. Dr. Jozef Polák (3 February 1886, Prague - 1944 Oświencim-Brzezinka, Poland) was a museologist, art historian and the director of the East Slovak Museum in Košice. Dr. Polák is also captured in other photographs - in a picture from 1935 with graphic artist Karel Vik from Turnov and in a separate photo. From 1932, there is an aerial view of the premises of the Jewish sacral buildings in Košice on the corner of the Moyzesová and Grešáková Streets and 20 reproduced copies of photos of outstanding Jewish citizens of Košice. From 1935, there is a photo of the synagogue in the Puškinova Street in Košice. Photographs of a Jewish ball in Košice have been preserved from 1936 and 1937. From 1940, there is a photograph of the Jewish wedding of K. Fehér and N. Spirová from Košice. From the post-war period, there is a photograph of Eugen Kron, a graphic designer, who was the founder of the Kron Graphic School (born in 1882 in Sobrance, died in 1974 in Italy).
- Archival history:
- The collection began to grow with the establishment of the Archives in 1954. The number of photographs was steadily increasing. The collection was processed in 2002-2004. The finding aid was created in 2004. Since then, additional photos have been added to the collection, so the fonds also includes an unprocessed part.
