- The public administration committee coordinated the activities of the county bodies and the state authorities, having a considerable power in the areas of the counties. Relevant documents include general administrative files, in particular the documents concerning school matters (1877-1919). - Administrative/biographical history:
- The public administration committees were established in the counties in 1876. Their members were county officials and elected members of the county municipal committees. They had authority in all areas of public administration, monitoring the overall situation in the county and submitting regular reports to the Presidium of the Government and ministries. When the Austro-Hungarian monarchy ceased to exist, the public administration committees lost their powers and became mere consultative bodies.
