Scope and content:: The fonds includes documents with call number D - education and church records, general matters pertaining to the Jewish religious community (not dated in inventory), specifically submission of the statutes of the Jewish religious community in Boskovice in 1869, the statutes of the Jewish religious communities in Znojmo and in Miroslav, the statutes of the Jewish religious community in Šatov 1897, matters of the Jewish community in Znojmo 1901. Matters pertaining to the Jewish communities are also found in documents from the period of 1928-1942, which, however, are not specified in the inventory. Attention should also be devoted to the 1890 census, but census records have not been preserved for the town of Znojmo itself.

Archival history:: During the move to Moravské Budějovice in 1938 all presidium files from 1918-1938 were destroyed, and all other documents were kept in fragments until 1945. The documents were transferred in 1950 and 1954 to the Znojmo District Archives, where they were arranged in 1955.

Administrative/biographical history:: The District Office in Znojmo was established in 1850, where it existed until 1938, when its powers were taken over by the Znojmo Landrat (district councillor), and the office itself was moved to Moravské Budějovice. The political district of Znojmo consisted of three judicial districts: Jaroslavice, Vranov nad Dyjí with the Jewish political and religious community of Šafov; and judicial district Znojmo with a Jewish religious community in Znojmo.

System of arrangement:: The fonds is arranged as follows: Official books, Assisting books, Files and Accounting dossiers. The files are further divided into the periods of 1869-1917, 1918-1928, 1928-1938, 1939-1942.
