- Archival history:
- Documents create by the town administration and Municipality Office (Magistrat) were probably stored at the town hall. Since 1918 the written sources were administered by the town museum. In 1929 the archival records were stored in a separately adjusted room in the building of a savings bank. Over the next years they were moved several times. In 1960 the archival records were taken over by the District Archives Ústí nad Orlicí.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The first written record of Choceň comes from 1227. The vassal town was affected by frequent changes of its owners. Detailed information about the town is preserved only from the 16th century onwards.
