- Scope and content:
- The fonds consists of documents from the municipal administration of Kvačice, including a report on confiscation of Jewish property 1941.
- Archival history:
- Documents in the fonds were originally stored with the creator. After the merger of Kvačice with the town of Uherský Ostroh they were taken over by the municipal registry office in Uherský Ostroh. From there, they were handed over in 1956 to the District Archives in Veselí nad Moravou and in 1962, transferred from its successor the District State Archives in Hodonín to the District State Archives in Uherské Hradiště in 1962. The inventory of the fonds was compiled in 1975.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The first mention of the village of Kvačice dates back to 1371. It has been part of Uherský Ostroh since then, the latter belonging to the Liechtenstein family from 1625. From 1848, Kvačice was a separate municipality, although in 1850-1861 is was a settlement of the municipality Ostrožské Předměstí. Kvačice was merged with Uherský Ostroh in 1947. There was never any continuous Jewish settlement in Kvačice, although an ancient Jewish Community was based in nearby Uherský Ostroh. In 1850-1855 and 1868-1949, Kvačice belonged to the political district of Uherské Hradiště and in 1855-1868 to the political district of Uherský Ostroh. In 1850-1949, it then belonged to the judicial district of Uherský Ostroh.
