- Scope and content:
- The fonds consists of fragmentarily preserved records of the municipal office in Bor. The files from 1933–45 are especially well preserved. Information about Jews can be found in census materials from 1880, but most relevant information is only contained in files from 1933–45. Some of the files have been removed from the fonds and are stored in box III, labelled Nazi occupation action. Specific contents are a list of political refugees from the town (Czechs and Jews) dated October 1938, files regarding the prayer room in Bor, including its ground plan and its transfer to town property, administration of property of the Jews of Bor, classifying Bor inhabitants among Jews of mixed origin and regulations on Jewish identification.
- Archival history:
- Most of the fonds was acquired in 1955 and further records have since been added.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The municipal office in Bor began operating in 1850, succeeding the municipality office (Magistrat). Municipalities (Gemeinde) became the lowest components of self-administration in 1850, with independent authority (such as administration of municipal assets, domicile agenda, security and care for the poor) and transferred authority (such as guardianship, election, warrant, tax and military matters). The municipal office was terminated in 1945.
- System of arrangement:
- The fonds is not arranged. Lists of all official books and for files from 1933-1945 were made in the archives; the archival records are ordered according to these lists.
- Access, restrictions:
