From the period of the Holocaust, the only reference is to property of Jews and Czech officials, 1938.
- Archival history:
- The town's documents were stored at the town hall. The archive was transferred to the former monastery building at the end of the 19th century, where it was stored with museum collections. It was placed in the Geschader house in 1917 and moved to the former Pavlínin court after the second world war. In the mid-1970s it was taken over by the district archive in Šumperk.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Šumperk (German: Mährisch Schönberg) was founded by colonists, probably at the start of the 1270s, and became a royal charter town in 1562. From 1622 it was a tributary town of the Liechtensteins and part of the manor of Ruda nad Moravou. From 1679–93 it became notorious for its witch trials. Since 1848 it has been an independent municipality. Šumperk was the seat of a Bezirksamt (political and judicial district office) from 1850–68 and a district political office from 1868. Jews were expelled from Šumperk in 1585 and settled there again after 1848.
