- Scope and content:
- The fonds was created by the activity of the Roman Catholic parish office in Neplachovice. The documents provide only fragmentary information about the history of Neplachovice and the parish. The only record of Jewish issues is inv. 66, comprising an official book containing a register of Jews births from 1851-70 and a register of apostates and converts from 1899-1906. The data in the Jewish register of birth shows that around the middle of the 19th century Neplachovice was home to the Jewish Walter family, and in the 1860s and 1870s to the Jewish Kaufmann family.
- Archival history:
- The documents were filed in the parish office in Neplachovice. Based on an agreement of the regional administration with the Olomouc consistory (1960), the records were transferred to the district archive in Opava in August 1961. Another part of the material was taken in 1981. In 2011 the fonds was arranged.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The church in Neplachovice (German: Neplachowitz, Polish: Neplachowice) dates from the 13th century, and gained parish status by 1375. In the second half of the 19th century the parish included the municipalities of Držkovice, Holasovice, Kamenec, Loděnice, Neplachovice, Skrochovice and Štemplovec. At present, in addition to these villages, it includes Neplachovice-Zadky. In 1996 the Neplachovice parish, which belongs to the deanship of Opava, became part of the newly established Ostrava-Opava diocese.
