- Archival history:
- The documents were kept after 1945 at the municipal national committee in Záluží and transferred at an unknown point to the district archives in Most, where an internal appraisal was carried out in 1972. In 1975 the materials, together with the archives of several other municipalities, were included in a group inventory. The final arrangement of the fonds was carried out in 1996, when documents found in 1988 were added.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- Záluží (Maltheuern) was first mentioned in a deed from 1333. From 1850-68 it belonged to Dolní Litvínov, later becoming independent. It belonged to the judicial district of Most from 1850-1905, the judicial district of Horní Litvínov until 1938 and the political district of Most throughout. In 1938-45 it was part of the Reichsgau Sudetenland, Landkreis (rural district) of Most. The village prospered due to mining in the area in the last quarter of the 19th century, and it was also affected by the construction of a large chemical plant after 1939.
