Records relating to Jewish issues are mainly in section 5 - religious matters, particularly in registry aids. Files relating to these file designations appear only rarely. Part of record group 11 - businesses, art, factories - also contains information about people of Jewish origin.
- Archival history:
- When the district office of Lovosice was abolished on 30 August 1868 its registry was handed over to the district governorship of Litoměřice. Until 1941 it was kept at the district office of Litoměřice, later the Landrat of Leitmeritz. In July 1941 the records of the former district office were taken over by the Reich archive in Liberec. The records were kept there until 1949, when they were handed over to the regional archives in Litoměřice. In September 1961, after they had been arranged and inventoried, the records were moved to the district archives in Litoměřice.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Bezirksamt (political and judicial district office) of Lovosice was in existence from 1855-68 as the lowest-ranking authority for the judicial and district administration in the judicial district of Lovosice, which contained 45 cadastral communities. The office was abolished on 30 August 1868 and only the district court remained in the town. The powers of the former district office were transferred to the newly established district governorship of Litoměřice.
