- The fonds originated from the activities of the municipal office of Libverda. The materials were stored at the municipal office and taken to the district archives in Frýdlant in 1956. After the merger of the districts of Liberec and Frýdlant the fonds was moved to the depository of the district archives of Liberec in October 1962. Materials from 1850-1945 were added in 1969 and the final documents from 1918-45 in 1977. The fonds was arranged in 2003.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The first record of the municipality can be found in the land register of the Frýdlant estate from 1381. The positive health effects of the local water were noted from the late 14th century. From 1850 the municipality was in the political and judicial district of Frýdlant. In 1938-45 it was annexed to Nazi Germany. Its population was mostly German until 1945.
