- The fonds includes criminal files, inheritance proceedings, land books and land agenda, determining paternity C, card files of the civil agenda, NC, C, and M registers. Jewish history is covered in commercial register files including the documents of Jewish companies (box 5 relates to Hoffmann und Hettwer Co., earlier Kraus und Hoffmann Co., 1919-48) and files of inheritance issues.
- Archival history:
- Parts of the fonds were gradually transferred to the state archives of Liberec in 1948-57. Criminal files organised during the 1954 appraisal were stored in 134 boxes and deposited in the former municipal archives in Liberec. From there they were transferred to Jablonec in 1954. The entire fonds was transferred to the district archives in Liberec in 1965.

- The district court in Liberec was established in 1850. On 1 February 1949 its jurisdiction was extended to the entire administrative district of Liberec. During the Nazi occupation it was called an Amtsgericht.

- The files of the fonds are arranged according to their original labels and agendas, largely in their original packaging. There exists a cancelled registry finding aid for one part (esp. criminal files and estates of inheritance).
