Scope and content:: The fonds includes documents of the municipal self-government. Jews are mentioned in file 477, box 100: Members of the Jewish religious community, 1934-39.

Archival history:: The documents of the municipal office were stored at the town hall and later in the former parish building before being moved back to the town hall. When they were reviewed in 1982 they were found to be in very bad condition, so they were transferred to the district archives in Liberec. They were arranged in 1994.

Administrative/biographical history:: The first record of Hodkovice dates from 1352. The town was repeatedly affected by war due to its location on trade routes and in 1806 was almost burned to the ground. In the 19th century the manufacture of glass and glass products developed in Hodkovice.

System of arrangement:: The fonds is made accessible through an insufficient associated inventory. It is divided into books, registry finding aids, accounting material and files. The oldest files until 1851 and the files until 1917 are ordered chronologically. The files after about 1900 are arranged into groups: State issues, Municipal issues, Feasts, foreigners and military issues, Construction issues, Health care, Industry and business, Church, culture and education, National history, domicile right, tourism and foundations, Purchase and sale issues, Financial issues, ordinances and registration of citizens. The documents which have not been arranged are divided into thematic groups and ordered at the beginning of the files (presidium files, criminal and court files, schools, finances, etc.).
