- Scope and content:
- The fonds of the school board of the Jewish community of Holešov consists of two registers of pupils of the primary school (German: Deutsche Volksschule der Israelitengemeinde Holleschau) from 1895-1910 and 1910-16.
- Archival history:
- Documents of the school board of the Jewish community of Holešov were stored in the registry office of the town of Holešov after the community’s demise. After being taken over by the former district archives in Holešov the documents were separated from the town registry as a special fonds in 1956. In 1962 the fonds was arranged but the registry finding aid was later found to be unsatisfactory. The fonds is now considered unarranged.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Jewish political community in Prostějov was also the school community, as a local school board was established under the Land Act of 1870, this being the local school administration authority. The board included members of the municipal self-government and the headmaster of the Jewish primary school and dealt with schools’ organisational and staffing matters, material equipment, supervised tuition and discipline and managed school accounts and records of pupils. It was dissolved through the merger of the Jewish and municipal communities in 1919.
