- Scope and content:
- Only fragments of the documents of the district office of Mariánské Lázně have survived. Of the books in the fonds, only the marriage registry index of 1882-38 has been kept. The subjects of other files include celebrations and congratulations to the emperor; repatriation of war refugees; elections to the Reichsrat (imperial council), land council, district council and national assembly; and various administrative, church, school, health, cultural and police matters. There are documents relating to the Jewish religious community in Mariánské Lázně from 1903-18 (inv. 12). These include notifications to the district office concerning municipal decrees and disputes between the municipality and Max Kräupel and the trader S. Löbner. There are also documents (inv. 28) regarding the Jewish temple choir of Mariánské Lázně (Tempelchor Verein Marienbad): permission to found an association (1892); reports on general meetings and board elections; and permission requests for celebrations and cultural events (1892-95).

- The documents were sent to the archive by the state archives in Kadaň in 1960.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- In 1850 a Bezirkshauptmannschaft (district head office) for the districts of Planá and Lázně Kynžvart was established in Planá. A district office was established in Mariánské Lázně in 1902 and renamed the district political administration of Mariánské Lázně in 1918. In 1928 the name changed again to the district office of Mariánské Lázně. The office terminated its activities in 1938.
