An important source for the history of Jews is also provided by the Land books (originated before 1848), testaments, judicial agenda, population registry of the town of Frýdek (inv. Very valuable resources are also the census records of the town of Frýdek from the years 1869, 1880, 1890, 1900, 1910, 1921.
- Archival history:
- The documents were originally deposited in the building of the Municipal Office Frýdek. Selected documents and writings were handed over in the 1920s or 1930s to the municipal museum in Frýdek, and after the district archives were established archival documents were handed over to the District State Archives in Frýdek-Místek in 1956. The latter part of the fonds was transferred from the Municipal National Committee to the District State Archives in Frýdek-Místek where it is deposited to this day.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The town of Frýdek was founded in the years 1327-1333 by the Těšín princes. In 1798, the Frýdek estate was bought by Maria Christina, Duchess of Teschen and Albert Casimir, Duke of Teschen and the estate was owned by the Habsburgs until 1918. It was managed by the Těšín chamber. During 1850-1868 the town of Frýdek fell under the District Office Frýdek. In 1868, Frýdek was appointed a statutory town and the Political District of Frydek was abolished. In 1901, the Bezirkshauptmannschaft (district head office) Frýdek was established, to which the town of Frýdek was subordinated. Frýdek was the seat of the District Office as well as the District Court. In 1864, the Jewish Association was approved in Frýdek with the official name “Israelitischer Kultus-Verein für Friedek, Místek und Colloredow“. In 1890, the Jewish Religious Community was formed with its base in Frýdek, including also the statutory town of Frýdek and villages of the neighbouring district of Frýdek and Místek.
