- Archival history:
- Documents originating from the municipal, later town, office in Podmokly were stored in its registry office. At the beginning of the 1950s, the archives of the town of Děčín took over the bulk of the pre-war and wartime municipal registry. The fonds was arranged in 1964-1966 by the District Archives Děčín.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- In 1579, the owner of the Podmokly estate, Jindřich of Bynov, changed the borders of the so-called Vogteis (lower administrative territorial unit). Since then the newly established Vogtei in Weiher included the villages of Podmokly (Bodenbach), Rozbělesy, Želenice, Chrást and Chrochvice. After the 1849 reform of the municipal administration the name of the largest village was transferred to be the name of the newly established municipality - Podmokly. Due to the development of industry and transportation the municipality grew and in 1901 it was promoted to town status. In 1942, the towns of Děčin and Podmokly and the village of Staré Město merged into one unit. The merger came into effect on 1 October 1942 and the new settlement gained the name of Děčín-Podmokly.
