- Scope and content:
- The fonds includes documents of the district court of Horní Planá , a first instance court. The files of the criminal and civil agendas and land books have survived. The files of persons of Jewish origin can be searched by name indexes.
- Archival history:
- The fonds was taken over by the State Archive in Třeboň, along with the materials of the District Court of Český Krumlov, from the District Court of Český Krumlov in 1948. The files from 1850-1897 were appraised and arranged in 1958. In 1960 a revision was carried out and the fonds was re-arranged and inventoried. The land books were catalogued in the District Archives in Český Krumlov in 1970 and 1973. A change in the division of the books was made in 2013.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The District Court of Horní Planá originated from a reform of the judicial and political administration. It started to work in June 1850 comprising municipalities of the newly established judicial district of Horní Planá. In 1855, a Bezirksamt (political and judicial District Office) was established in Horní Planá that linked the political and judicial agendas and worked in the same territory as the District Court. After a new reform in 1868, the 1850 situation was restored. In October 1938 the District Court of Horní Planá was abolished, being replaced by the District Court (Amtsgericht). After liberation from the Nazis in 1945, the jurisdiction of the District Court of Horní Planá was transferred to the District Court of Český Krumlov in September 1945. In January 1949, the District Court of Horní Planá was abolished.
