- Archival history:
- The documents of the municipal office of Dubice were first moved to the District Archives in Česká Lípa after an appraisal was carried out in 1953. Another part of the documents was taken over from the National Committee Dubice when it was abolished in 1959. The fonds was inventoried in 1977.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The municipality of Dubice belonged to Berkas of Dubá as early as 1391. In 1850, Dubice was incorporated in the municipality of Stráž u České Lípy. It became a separate municipality as late as 1913, so in 1850-1913 it did not have its own municipal office. In 1848-1945, the municipality of Dubice fell within the political district of Česká Lípa.

- System of arrangement:
- The archive of the municipality of Dubice is divided into books and files. During the inventory, the books were arranged into subject matters. The file material is divided into registry finding aids and files which are divided into two registry periods (1918-1938 and 1938-1945), while a separate group consists of fragments of copies from before 1850. Within the registry periods, the files are sorted by subject. The best preserved unit in the fonds is the population register (registration books).
