In 1952, the documents were taken over by the former Archives of the Olomouc Region in Janovice u Rýmařova where additions to the fonds were also transferred in 1956 and 1959. In 1956, census records from the then State Archives in Brno were transferred. In 1961, the fonds was transferred to the District Archives in Bruntál.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The political district of Rýmařov (Römerstadt in German) was created in 1855 as a Bezirksamt (political and judicial district office). In 1868, the Bezirkshauptmannschaft (district head office) in Rýmařov designed only for political administration was created and since 1922 the name of District Political Administration began to be used. Since 1928 it was the District Office in Rýmařov. The District Office in Rýmařov existed until October 1938, when the whole territory of the district was annexed to Germany and incorporated into the Reichsgau Sudetenland (Sudeten Region). The political administration was taken over by the Landrat (district councillor) office in Rýmařov.
