- Archival history:
- A part of the fonds with the pre-1902 files was transferred to the Moravian Provincial Archives, where it was arranged in 1958. From there it was transferred to the State District Archives Brno-venkov in 1960. A part of the fonds with the files dating from after 1903 was stored at the District National Committee Brno-venkov from where it was transferred to the State District Archives Brno-venkov in 1963. This part was arranged in 1968-1975, and a catalogue of the presidium files was also compiled.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Bezirkshauptmannschaft (district head office) in Brno was established as the lowest instance of the state political administration after 1848. In 1855, the political and judicial administrations of the first instance were merged and the Bezirksamt (political and judicial district office) was established in Brno. In 1868, the Bezirkshauptmannschaft in Brno was re-established for the political administration of the judicial districts of Brno-okolí, Tišnov and Ivančice. In 1896, the Bezirkshauptmannschaft in Tišnov was separated. In 1919, it was given the name of the District Political Administration Brno and in 1927, the District Office Brno-venkov. In 1942, the territory of the district of Tišnov was attached to it. The administration of the fonds creator included, in 1848-1855 and 1868-1945, the Jewish communities in Dolní Kounice and Ivančice; in 1848-1855, 1867-1896 and 1942-1945, those in Lomnice u Tišnova. In 1945, the office was transformed into the District National Committee Brno-venkov.
