The fonds includes documents of the Estate of Nová Bystřice which was, until 1938, in the possession of the Jewish family of Kern. It contains documents concerning forest and agricultural production, national and social issues in the border region and "Aryanisation" of Jewish property during the Nazi occupation.
The fonds includes 1 charter from the period before 1850, 131 books, 27 registry finding aids, 154 boxes of files, 4 maps, 11 technical drawings and 5 packages.
- Archival history:
- Part of the archival material was handed over to the Archives in Jindřichův Hradec in 1947. Subsequently, the fonds was complemented with earlier court files (1957) and land books (1962). The fonds was arranged in 1962 and then inventoried.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The first record of Nová Bystřice dates from 1188. For centuries, it was in possession of various owners who often changed. At the beginning of the 20th century the manor of Nová Bystřice was bought by the Viennese Jewish family of Kern. This family owned the estate until the Munich Agreement when the Nová Bystřice region was annexed by Nazi Germany. After liberation in 1945 from the Nazis, the estate was nationalised.
