- Scope and content:
- The fonds comprises records of the administration of the estate of Trpísty - Třebel, most of which date from the time when it was owned by the originally Jewish family of Kubinzky (1895-1938) and from the subsequent period when the estate was put under the forced administration of the German Settlement Company (1938-1945). Most of the records concern economic matters. The land books are of particular interest. The fonds shows the methods of farming on the estate at the time when it was in the hands of owners of Jewish origin.
- Archival history:
- The fonds includes documents of the administration of the estate of Trpísty - Třebel (officially, the names of the village were used in reverse order, unlike in name of the fonds). In 1949, the documents were transferred to the State Regional Agricultural Archives in Horšovský Týn from Třebel, and in 1951 from Trpísty. After being transferred to Horšovský Týn, the fonds went through an extensive appraisal. From Horšovský Týn the fonds was transferred, in 1959, to the Klatovy branch of the State Archives in Pilsen, and finally, in 2009, to the Klášter branch of the State Regional Archives in Pilsen.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The first records of Trpísty date from the 13th century. In 1612, it was associated with Třebel. In the following period the manor was owned by several noble families. In 1895, the estate was purchased by Knight Wilhelm Kubinzky. This nobleman was Jewish but had converted to Catholicism. The family of Kubinzky owned the estate until 1938 when a forced administration was imposed on it by the German Settlement Company which lasted until 1945. Until 1850, the manorial office pursued the economic management of the estate and on the basis of delegated powers it also functioned as the lowest instance of state administration. After 1850, the management of the estate mainly dealt with economic issues.
