Records of the Jewish population can also be expected in other land books and probably in the files, too (especially in matters of lease). The fonds also includes earlier archival records concerning the history of Jews: inv. No. 102 - Jewish land book for the manor of Chodová Planá A from 1786-1806, inv. No. 119 - Jewish book of wedding contracts A from 1786-1828, inv. No. 219 - Jews, a plan of Jewish Street in Chodová Planá, and copies of privileges from 1767-1834.
- Archival history:
- In 1949, the estate archive, a part of which was placed in the central storage rooms of the state farm in Chodová Planá, was moved to the State Regional Agricultural Archives in Horšovský Týn. In 1959, it was moved to Klášterec nad Ohří where there was a branch of the former State Archives in Kadaň. In 1969 the fonds was transferred to the Žlutice branch of the State Archives in Plzeň, and finally, in 2006, to the Klášter branch of the State Regional Archives in Plzeň.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The first record of Chodová Planá dates from 1316. From 1621 to 1818, the manor of Chodová Planá was owned by the Haimhausen family, from 1818 to 1896 by the Berchem-Haimhausens and from 1896 to 1945 by the Berchems. In 1945, the manor was confiscated by the Czechoslovak state. Until 1850 the manorial office pursued the economic management of the manor and on the basis of delegated powers it also functioned as the lowest instance of state administration. After 1850 the administration office of the estate mainly dealt with economic issues.
