- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Mining Company Ltd. (Bergbaugesellschaft m. b. H.) was founded in 1917 with headquarters in Prague. Its scope of business was established in the mining business in acquired or leasehold factories, coal sales and use other mining products. Later that year, the company bought a soft coal plant Berta in Milžany (Anna Ernst, Ella from c. 1919), from Moritz Bergmann, company owner of Josef Pollak, coal store in Prague, and gradually other mining and land property from other owners. The company was owned by the Petschek family. Hans Petschek was a managing director of the company since 1919. Based on an agreement of November 1940, the equity assets of the company held by Dr. Paul Petschek, Friedrich Petschek, Hans Petschek, Walter Petschek, Grete Gallert and Marie Gallert were handed over for the amount of 1,000,000 CZK to joint stock company Montan- und Industrialwerke, Dr. Johann David Starck in Dolní Rychnov. This company sold its entire operation in 1941 to joint stock company Falknauer Montan-und Industriewerke (since 1943 renamed Montan- und Industriewerke, A.G., Dr. Johann David Starck). After the war, national administration was imposed on the company. In 1946, within the scope of nationalisation, its assets were transferred to the North Bohemian brown lignite mines, national corporation, in Most.
