No. 28 Restitution procedure - M. Feder 1946-1951.
- Archival history:
- Only a rump of the documents survived. Until 1984 the fonds was stored in the company archive of Plastimat Liberec, national corporation, then transferred to the State Regional Archives in Litoměřice where an inventory was created in 1985.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- In the years 1905-1914 Vendelín Siebeneichler built a factory in Jablonec nad Nisou for the production of celluloid and metal goods. Later, the property was transferred to Max Feder (son-in-law of the founder), who acquired the whole company in 1928. Max Feder was arrested after the Nazi occupation of the border on racial grounds. After his release he went to Prague; in 1939 he fled with his family to England. The company was seized according to the Reich laws and fell into the hands of the Commissioner for the solution of the Jewish affairs in the border region. According to the contract of sale from 18 November 1939 the ownership right was passed to the company Metall- und Presswerke, GmbH., later referred to as Metall-und Presswerke, Edelhoff & Litz. After the war, the company was managed by Gerhard Feder, son of the former owner, appointed provisional national administrator on 1 June 1945. Max Feder did not return from England, his pursuit of restitution proceedings was not successful due to political unreliability of the state. Gerhard Feder also left for England and was dismissed as the national administrator. By 1 January 1948, the company was incorporated into Plastimat Liberec, national corporation.
