- Scope and content:
- The fonds of the Regional Office of Litoměřice contain documents of political administration of second instance. Materials relating to Jewish history must be looked for in department 4 - Nationality, domicile right, marital matters. Sub-department 4/2 holds requests for emigration abroad and documents relating to emigration, export and import of property and sending emigrants a declaratory (inv. № 53). Sub-department 4/3 holds matters of relocation in this country, determination of domicile, granting of domicile right, acceptance into the municipality cluster (inv. № 54). Sub-department 4/4 holds marital and registry matters, declarations of death, legitimation and documents on adoption and name changes (inv. № 55-77). Department 5 - Religious matters holds documents on Jewish Communities and individuals - e.g. filling positions of Jewish registrars, Rabbi positions, religious associations, elections for representation of the provincial Jews, establishment of synagogues and prayer rooms etc. (inv. № 79-115). Department 6 - teaching and education, in sub-department 6/6-30 we can find matters of individual schools and teachers (inv. № 120-141). In department 7 - Healthcare, it is possible to find matters of Jewish cemeteries, transportation of the dead and Jewish doctors etc. (inv. № 144-159). Department 8 - Police, sub-department 8/8-31 holds passport applications, Wanderbuch, domicile certificates, weapons licences, descriptions of (wanted) people, arrest warrants, investigations, warrants for deportation to home municipalities and individual criminal police cases (inv. № 167-191). Group 11 - Agriculture and industry, sub-department 11/30-52 holds matters of trade, art, factories and inventions (inv. № 252-274).
- Archival history:
- The registry office of the Regional Office of Litoměřice was taken over in 1941 from the building of the District Head Office in Litoměřice to the Reich Archives in Liberec. In 1949, it was handed over to the State Archives in Litoměřice. The fonds was arranged in 1957.
- Administrative/biographical history:
- The Regional Office of Litoměřice was established in 1854 as political administration of second instance in the territorial scope of the then districts of Benešov, Cvikov, Česká Kamenice, Česká Lípa, Děčín, Chabařovice, Libochovice, Lipová, Litoměřice, Lovosice, Nový Bor, Roudnice nad Labem, Rumburk, Šluknov, Štětí, Teplice, Ústí nad Labem, Úštěk and Varnsdorf. In 1862, the sphere of influence of the Regional Office changed, as a significant part of the agenda was transferred to the Viceregency and District Offices. The office was dissolved for good in 1868.

- The fonds is divided into assisting books (protocol registers and indices), presidium files and files, structured into 13 registry groups according to regional standards. Files can be searched with the aid of indices. Official books are not preserved in the fonds.
